First Family Therapy Intake Session

Service Description

If your family is going through a tough time -- whether it's from stress, anger, or grief -- family therapy can make a difference. It can help couples, children, or members of an extended family learn to communicate better and work through conflicts. Family therapy is often short term. It may include all family members or just those able or willing to participate. In these sessions Dr Cole can facilitate communication and/or teach you skills to deepen family connections and get through stressful times, even after you're done going to therapy sessions. Having fully participated in raising children to adulthood, Dr Cole knows first hand how difficult parenting can be. If you need some help in this area he can help you develop and implement a parenting plan based on his book titled “Parenting Teens & Tweens: How to Raise Healthy Humans with Character.” This process involves helping you develop a plan tailored to the needs of your family and children. For example, Dr Cole can provide you with guidance on how to establish and communicate boundaries; how to contract for desire behaviors; how to motivate your children to do what they say they’ll do; how to understand your own family brand; how to evaluate performance, and when and how to obtain resources (books, training) or call in a consultant (counselor, religious leader, teacher) to provide you with insight into difficult problems.

Cancellation Policy

Because Dr. Cole is in a private, solo practice, he loses the full amount of the cost of your session if you decide to reschedule or cancel your appointment without giving us sufficient time to back-fill your scheduled appointment. Accordingly, we request a 24 hours notice for rescheduling or canceling an appointment. There is no charge for rescheduling or canceling an appointment prior to this 24-hour window of time. If you reschedule or cancel your session without a 24-hour notice we reserve the right to charge the credit card you have on file with our office the full amount of a clinic hour.
